ABOUT EAGLES MERE...
...the town time forgot.
Almost one mile long and one-quarter mile wide, spring-fed Eagles Mere was once named Lewis Lake after the Englishman George Lewis who purchased the lake with 10,000 acres in 1794 for $1.00 per acre.

Eagles Mere blends the Victorian country charm of its late 19th century heritage with an enchanting array of contemporary amenities. Known as " the resort " for wealthy Philadelphians at the turn of the century, Eagles Mere conveys the rare feeling of a town time forgot. With this passage of time, many of the grand cottages and village shoppes have retained the original architecture reflecting on their gracious past.

At 2,200 foot elevation, nestled high in the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania, Eagles Mere offers visitors and exceptional range of choices...quaint shops, outstanding dining, tranquil country inns, miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, scenic vistas and the crystal clear, private Eagles Mere Lake...all within strolling distance of the quaint, historic Victorian Village Shops.

The beautiful Village Shops and Greene are located in the heart of historic, Victorian Eagles Mere, on Route 42 in Sullivan County, 8 miles off Route 220.

A visit to Eagles Mere is well worth the trip and one that you will long remember.
