Many of the County Links on the left will keep you specifically in or near Philadelphia PA. We add new listings and links on a regular basis.

Philadelphia County was one of the three original counties created by William Penn in November, 1682, and its name to him signified brotherly love.

In 1682, William Penn founded the city to serve as capital of Pennsylvania Colony. By the 1750s, Philadelphia had surpassed Boston to become the largest city and busiest port in British America, and second in the British Empire, behind London. During the American Revolution, Philadelphia played an instrumental role as a meeting place for the Founding Fathers of the United States, who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the US Constitution in 1787. Philadelphia was one of the nation's capitals during the Revolutionary War, and the city served as the temporary U.S. capital while Washington, D.C. was under construction.

Philadelphia is a truly dynamic city and one of America's most historic destinations. As you enjoy your visit to Philadelphia, remember that you are also in America's Friendliest City, the Best Restaurant City, the Most Honest City and also one of the nation's first cities.

History comes to life during the spring and summer months with fascinating historical reenactments, which can be seen in Independence National Historical Park. Philadelphia's famous Fourth of July celebration, is like no other birthday party in America. All summer, you can experience multicultural festivals highlighting music, food, crafts and culture in Philadelphia. Be sure to visit a Philadelphia event ticket broker before hand to ensure that you have tickets to all the awesome events.

With the beuatiful weather it's time to be thinking "outdoors"! So we put together something for you called our PA Hiking page. It's basically a sampling of the information you can find in any PA county under our "What to do" category. After tasting the sample start hitting the various regions and counties. One of our favorite things is "rafting" in Fayette County. You'll find Fayette County in southwestern PA. If the names of the counties intimidate you try finding things by towns. This feature will take you to the right county. Try it! You can't get lost and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Tens of thousands of people access our network of sites every day, from Maine to South Carolina and from Washington all the way to California. Now they can do it on their cell phones. Simple. Easy. No fees. No apps to download. Try it yourself!
