Join us for a recreational bike ride on the "Clarion-Little Toby Trail" a world class trail featured in the New York Times a few weeks ago. The event is scheduled to begin at the Brockway Trailhead (behind the football stadium) at 11 AM.
There will be various options for riders:
- A ride from Brockway to the "Swinging Bridge", a foot bridge over the Toby Creek, about 5 miles out and 5 miles back.
- A guided leisurely ride focusing on the historic aspects of the trail such as ghost towns, logging mills and railroad lore.
- A ride from Brockway to the Clarion River, at Carmen, and back (for those who want to ride back), 9 miles each way.
- A ride from Brockway to Ridgway, 18 miles each way.
Of course, riders could also ride to the event from the Ridgway end. There are trailheads at 4 locations with plenty of parking available: at Brockway, at the state game lands 3 miles from Brockway, and at Carmen and Ridgway. Shorter rides are also possible, at your own discretion and comfort levels. Ride leaders will be available, but feel free to ride at your own pace if you like. You could also organize your own group. This is not a race but a pleasure ride on one of the nation's most scenic trails in early October when the leaves will be at peak colors.
