Many of the County Links
on the left will keep you specifically in Wellsboro, Mansfield and Tioga County, the PA Grand Canyon. We add new listings and links on a regular basis.
Tioga County, PA, located in the "PA WILDS" is the proud home of the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania is a 47-mile gorge carved by Pine Creek in northcentral Pennsylvania. It sits in about 160,000 acres of the Tioga State Forest. The canyon begins south of Ansonia, near Wellsboro, along U.S. Route 6 and continues south.
It is a land of pristine wilderness where modern conveniences are only a stone's throw away. Fishing? One hundred miles of stocked streams and seven lakes. Canoeing? You haven't done it until you've done the Pine Creek through the Grand Canyon in the spring. Hunting? Some of the best in the East.
Bring the family to the fall foliage season in September and October. Or to the PA State Laurel festival at blossom time in June. Or hiking and biking on Pennsylvania's longest "Rails to Trails" trail. Winter time is for skiing, snowmobiling, fishing and skating. Tioga's mountains are dotted with campgrounds and lodges.
There are three Pennsylvania state parks in Tioga County. Hills Creek State Park is several miles north of U.S. Route 6 between Wellsboro and Mansfield in Charleston Township. Colton Point State Park and Leonard Harrison State Park are both part of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon that is carved by Pine Creek.
