The County Links on the left will keep you specifically in or near Clinton County, part of the PA Wilds Region in northcentral PA. We add new listings and links on a regular basis.
Clinton County is one of America's few easy-to-reach mountain woodland areas. Only a few hours drive from most of the Northeastern United States it is wooded Appalachian Mountains creased by pristine creeks and streams and sprinkled with clear mountain lakes. The geography is mountainous with high peaks and deep valleys. It's a wonderland full of recreation, private campgrounds and state parks and abounds in easy access points to streams and trails, in wayside picnic parks, friendly inns, quality family restaurants and stimulating natural attractions. Old railroad beds are now hiking, snowmobiling, bicycle and skiing trails. Hyner Run is excellent trout fishing. Brook and brown trout are stocked annually and native brook trout inhabit its upper reaches. Numerous other mountain streams within a relatively short distance of the park provide excellent trout fishing. The nearby Right Branch Young Womans Creek has a fly fishing area. Hyner View State Park is one of the "must see" State Parks in PA. The park is the location of a scenic lookout and a contains a launching point for hang gliding. Visitors to Hyner View State Park can see the West Branch Susquehanna River for many miles both up and downstream. Hang gliders can be launched from a ramp just below the lookout wall and glide over the river valley. The park has a small picnic area, a parking area, and restrooms. Hang gliders take off from the scenic vista and sail out over the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. |
