RECOMMENDED by the Pennsylvania Visitors Network
US Route 6 is one of the most splendid scenic drives in the country in any season. For fall in Pennsylvania find Route 6 from just about anywhere in northern Pa. Good to start in Towanda (
Bradford County) and drive east, or Warren in
Warren County and drive west. These directions assume travel from east to west. In Wellsboro, take a detour across PA 660 to the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. For the last five years
American Bald Eagles were sighted here. Back on the highway head toward Coudersport where you may want to stay at the
Susquehannock Lodge for hiking, mountain biking and snowmobiling trail maps from Ed. You are now in
Potter County so be sure to check out what's going on! On to
McKean County (SEE ABOVE) and then head into the
Allegheny National Forest and
Warren County. For the whole trip you will be in rural, mountainous
Pennsylvania. You will not only enjoy the spectacular foliage but, if you don't see any wildlife it's because you're driving with your eyes closed. Whether you do this whole tour, or only part of it, take your camera and look at the most beautiful autumn foliage in America! For free print brochures on Route 6 visit
Tioga County Tourist Bureau site and look for the Route 6 page.
